London, 29 August, 2012 – TagMan, the global leader in e-commerce tag management, announces its inclusion in Forrester Research, Inc.’s report “Understanding Tag Management Tools and Technology.” In the report, Forrester provides third-party, unbiased insight from industry experts on the tag management competitive landscape.
The August 2012 report shows that among technology providers in the space, TagMan has the highest number of enterprise clients with 152 worldwide, as well as 253 tag management clients in live production, demonstrating industry leadership in the sector.
The report states that many companies offering tag management technology “are still developing their support infrastructures and credibility.” As the pioneer in tag management systems, having founded the industry in 2007, TagMan is the most mature technology provider and has the most employees dedicated to training and support. A separate eConsultancy report validates that TagMan has 2x to 3x more support staff than many of its closest competitive solutions.
Jon Baron, TagMan CEO said, “We were the first to recognise the importance of proper tag management for efficient online marketing. As the industry changes and new demands evolve for tag management systems, we will continue to develop innovative and compelling capabilities for our platform.”
The majority of site owners (62%) said ease of use is the most important factor when selecting a tag management system. TagMan has recognised this importance and the growing complexity of tag management and has designed its user interface with ease in mind, to make the process incredibly simple for marketers and web site owners.
Half of site owners said ease of implementation and ongoing management is the most important factor when selecting a tag management system. Tagman has the most proven technology in the space and has one of the largest and most experienced support teams for tag management.
A third of site owners said the vendor’s ability to service their business needs is the most important factor, while 32% said infrastructure and scalability is the most important factor when selecting a tag management system. TagMan has infrastructure and staff in several countries. It has surpassed the 100 billion tags served milestone and has served those tags in over 80 countries globally.
Brands that have several marketing and analytics applications will likely have hundreds of tags deployed on their site. This scenario requires tag management. The wrong implementation of tag management systems could lead to deficiencies in the number of tags that can be managed and the data that can be collected, optimised and analysed for marketing intelligence. Marketers and web site owners need a user friendly, efficient, easily implemented and managed system from a mature industry leading company with the support infrastructure and credibility already in place.
